Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Scheme

The scheme is designed to attract the university's best graduates to participate in research, giving those selected access to a tuition fee waiver on their research degree. For international students, it provides a fee waiver of at least 50% on full-time or part-time research degrees, with some schools offering 100%; home students are typically eligible for a full waiver.

A fee waiver of at least 50% (up to 100%, depending on school) for international students

Available for PhD, Master of Arts by Research, and Master of Science by Research (some listings also mention Master of Enterprise)

Covers the standard registration period only — 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time for doctoral awards, and 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time for Master's by Research awards. The waiver does not cover any write-up period or study beyond the standard registration period.

A first-class honours degree, OR

A distinction at taught Master's level, OR

Recommendation based on your Master's by Research by your supervisor and academic school

Must have graduated from the University of Huddersfield in the last three years

If still awaiting your degree result, any offer is conditional on your final degree outcome

Open to both home and international Huddersfield graduates

Requires sufficient supervisory capacity in the relevant subject area
