About this scholarship
Launched in 2024, this scholarship was created in partnership with world-renowned human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ), which operates in over 40 countries providing pro bono legal assistance to victims of human rights violations. The award reflects ULaw's commitment to widening access to legal education in the field of human rights, giving one exceptional candidate a transformative opportunity to develop expertise in human rights law and advocacy. Applicants can choose to study any of a wide range of eligible postgraduate law programmes at ULaw.
What the award includes
Full funding for one postgraduate law degree at The University of Law (excludes short courses)
Covers the entirety of tuition fees for the chosen eligible course
Who can apply
Must have received an offer for one of ULaw's eligible postgraduate law degrees, including:
Legal Practice Course (LPC)
LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2)
Bar Practice Course (BPC)
Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) – conversion
MA Law (Conversion)
MA Law (SQE1)
ULaw's academic LLM programmes
Must achieve a passing score in the Amal Clooney Scholarship Assessment
Must achieve the highest score on the Written Project Proposal (as the award goes to one candidate only)
Must demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting and defending human rights
