About this scholarship
Sponsored by ServiceScape/editing.services, a marketplace connecting clients with professional editors, translators, designers, and writers. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who submits the best 300-word essay responding to a set prompt (for the current cycle: "How does writing impact today's world?"). It's designed to help cover education-related costs — books, supplies, tuition, or anything else not covered by other financial aid.
What the award includes
$1,000 USD cash award, payable by check within 4 weeks of being confirmed as winner
Can be used toward any educational certification or degree program of the recipient's choice
Winner's name, photo, and essay are featured on the editing.services blog
Not renewable — one-time award only
Who can apply
Must be attending, or planning to attend, an accredited college, university, or trade school in the relevant contest year
Must be at least 18 years old
Each person may enter only once
Essay submissions must be written in English
Open internationally — available to students from the U.S., Canada, and other countries (some third-party aggregators note eligibility spans U.S. citizens as well as citizens of other countries)
Employees of ServiceScape/editing.services and their immediate family/household members are not eligible
No minimum GPA is required
