John and Myrtle Tilley Graduate Scholarship

One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding graduate students entering or continuing at the University of Victoria. Final approval of recipient(s) is made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies' Graduate Awards Committee. There is no student-facing application — instead, eligible academic units nominate qualifying students. Past recipients have come from a range of graduate programs, including the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, as noted in UVic's own awards records.

Award amount varies (not a fixed dollar figure) — determined based on available funds and the donor's terms

Open to both students entering and students continuing in a graduate program (not limited to incoming students)

Must be a full-time graduate student (unless otherwise noted in the specific award description)

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average, plus any additional donor-established criteria

Selected via nomination from an eligible academic unit — students cannot apply directly

Applicable to students entering a new graduate program or continuing in an existing one

To retain funding, students must maintain a minimum level of academic standing per UVic's ongoing graduate funding requirements
