A renewable, need-based merit scholarship offered by UIUC to incoming non-resident (out-of-state/international) first-year students who demonstrate financial need.
About this scholarship
The scholarship is open to incoming non-resident first-year students with demonstrated financial need, and it is renewable for up to four years. Students who apply to the University are automatically considered for this and other merit-based scholarships — there is no separate application form to fill out for initial consideration.
What the award includes
Award amount: $10,000
Renewable for 4 years, provided the student maintains full-time continuous enrollment, meets satisfactory academic progress requirements, and continues to be assessed non-resident tuition
Number of awards given is variable (not a fixed quota)
Who can apply
Must be an incoming non-resident (out-of-state or international) freshman
Must demonstrate financial need (determined via FAFSA/financial aid application)
Must be admitted as a first-year student at UIUC
