A renewable scholarship for University of Georgia undergraduates who are Georgia residents and graduates of The First Tee youth golf and character-development program, created in memory of longtime Athens golf professional Ed Hoard.
About this scholarship
Ed Hoard was a PGA master professional and head golf pro at the Athens Country Club (1980–2006), later working at the UGA Golf Course, where he worked to bring The First Tee program to Athens before his death. His wife, Kathy Hoard, established the Ed Hoard Memorial First Tee Scholarship Fund in his memory to help young men and women who have completed The First Tee program achieve their goal of attending UGA. The First Tee is an international youth development organization that uses golf to teach life skills and core values like honesty, respect, and confidence.
