Commonwealth Scholarships at University of South Wales

The Shared Scholarship scheme aims to train skilled professionals and academics who couldn’t otherwise afford to study in the UK. All subject areas are eligible, but CSC gives priority to applications with the strongest relevance to development. Earlier USW rounds exist: one aggregator lists a 2024 USW round with a 14 December 2023 deadline, but I can’t verify the current offering.

1. Full tuition fees, return airfare and a monthly living allowance. Other Shared Scholarship benefits at partner universities include an arrival allowance, thesis expenses, a study travel grant, an optical and dental allowance and Immigration Health Surcharge costs.
2. Check the CSC site for the current stipend rate.

1. Be a citizen of, or have refugee status in, an eligible Commonwealth country, and be permanently resident there.
2. Only applicants from CSC’s eligible-country list can apply. For Shared Scholarships the list includes Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Kenya and Malawi, among others. Check the full list for your country.
3. Candidates must also apply and secure admission to the chosen university course, and complete the Shared Scholarships eligibility checklist before applying.
4. The CSC’s general master’s criteria include a 2:1-standard first degree (or a lower second plus a relevant postgraduate qualification) and being unable to afford UK study without the award.
