Clark University Presidential Scholarships

The Presidential Scholarship recognizes incoming first-year students whose academic record and leadership potential place them at the very top of Clark University's applicant pool. It's part of Clark's broader merit scholarship offerings under its "Liberal Education and Effective Practice" (LEEP) educational model, which combines liberal arts study with real-world engagement. Unlike Clark's other merit scholarships — which are automatically considered as part of the standard admissions review, with no extra steps required — the Presidential Scholarship requires applicants to actively opt in and complete a distinct, separate application process, including two short essays and (for shortlisted candidates) an interview.

Renewable annually for four years, subject to maintaining required academic performance

Must be a first-year (incoming freshman) undergraduate applicant — not available to transfer students

Open to applicants of all nationalities, including international students

Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential, placing you among the very top of Clark's applicant pool

International applicants specifically must also demonstrate the ability to cover remaining education-related costs beyond the scholarship itself, even if selected — Clark notes that on average, international students at Clark pay roughly $25,000–$45,000/year out of pocket beyond aid, so this scholarship should not be assumed to cover 100% of total costs for international students

Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL, IELTS, or another accepted English proficiency score
