BlackRock Hallac Scholarship

Established in 2016, the BlackRock Hallac Scholarship honors the memory of Charles "Charlie" Hallac, BlackRock's former Chief Operating Officer and co-president, who died of cancer in 2015. Georgia Tech is one of only two national research universities BlackRock selected to lead this programme, which supports bright, innovative, entrepreneurial-minded students from economically disadvantaged circumstances studying in STEM disciplines. BlackRock provides an annual expendable gift to fund two cost-of-attendance scholarships per year, with the explicit goal of ensuring financial need never stands between a talented student and a world-class education. Full cost of undergraduate attendance, defined as: tuition, mandatory student fees, books and supplies, housing allowance, meal plan allowance, personal educational costs (as published by Georgia Tech's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid), plus a computer as necessary

Support identifying and securing a paid internship between the student's second and third year of study

A guaranteed paid internship directly at BlackRock between the third and fourth year of study

Direct connection and mentorship pathway into BlackRock, including six to seven weeks of structured preparation (resume writing, interview practice, professional etiquette) provided through the Georgia Tech Career Center
